Happiness is...

To wake up in your childhood home, only to find that outside there is a slight dusting of frost,

to be able to take my wonderful mum for a walk in beautiful surroundings, (or in my case mum had to take me for a walk),

To enjoy nature in all it's serenity

Joyful!

Santa's been and gone

Here in Norway Santa comes early, in the afternoon/evening of 24th December.

Just to wish you all a peaceful Christmas.

Fugly Xmas sweaters

Here in the UK for as long as I can remember there has been a huge trend every Christmas to wear the nastiest, ugliest sweaters around. So I thought I'd give you a little selection.

I've heard that this "trend" is spreading. World wide.
Are you one of those "fugly" wearing sweater girls?

Bohemia

I wouldn't mind having one of these chairs in our lounge room back here in London.
The problem is I could never convince my husband that this is actually a good look. Maybe in another lifetime.

Persimmon

I love the orangey, sweet persimmon fruit.
Its sweet, delicious flesh holds several health promoting nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that are vital for optimum health.

Plus they taste so good.

There is something about snow and Christmas

Yes, there is something very special about winter, snow and Christmas.

Where nature gets covered in a thick, white blanket and everything seems so peaceful and traquil

So here's hoping for a white Christmas

Cinnamon bun with caramelised sugar and tea.
For breakfast.
Gotta love it

White ginger flower

Wish there was a way I could share the smell with you.
Fell in love with these flowers in Kauai.

The road to Hana pt. 2

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, the one below is the church where Charles Lindbergh is buried. Hard to find. Beautiful setting.

If you ever do go to Maui I would recommend going to Hana.
It is beautiful, spiritual and full of contrasts.
If you do it proper you would stop and hike to a few spots.
Due to my increasingly bad knee I could not hike at all so we did the "quick" tour which still took us a day.

The road to Hana

Maui

The second leg of our big Hawaii trip was to Maui. A beautiful island, green and lush, with waves and great people. We stayed at our friends place.
For me, my favourite place  in the house would always be the kitchen. This is where the heart is and this kitchen had heart and soul in buckets.
Maybe not so weird when the owners enrich so many people with their presence.
Mahalo Linda and Ricky for a great stay!
